PM Narendra Modi to Address Farmers' Rally in Midnapore

“It is going to be a historic gathering. The ruling party had been saying a lot so far and trying to belittle BJP. This will be a fitting reply to them,” Sinha said, adding,”After Amit Shah s meeting at Purulia, TMC s counter meeting at that place had become a lackluster affair. After Modi s meeting on July 16, Mamata s July 21 meeting will meet the same fate.”

New Delhi, July 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in West Bengal’s Midnapore today on July 16. Ahead of PM Modi’s rally, BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha claimed that the rally will witness a historic gathering and will be a “befitting reply” to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. PM Narendra Modi will reach Midnapore around 12.30 PM and head straight to the rally ground.

During BJP chief Amit Shah’s visit at the Tarapith temple in Birbhum, the TMC had put up the West Bengal Chief Minister’s hoardings with her folded hands. Even though TMC said that it was their courtesy to welcome Shah, Sinha had said that they themselves have shown a trailer of the what was going to be the “future of the state”.

“It is the future of this state. Wherever BJP leaders will go, followers of Mamata would be standing with folded hands. They have themselves shown a trailer of what is going to happen. This is a big victory for us,” Sinha said.

Accusing and slamming Mamata Banerjee for making false promises to the farmers and looting them, the BJP national secretary said, “TMC is a party of robbers. In contrast, Modi has ensured 150 per cent MSP for farmers for their Kharif crops. There will be no more farmers suicide. For that Mamata should be grateful to the farmers.

Meanwhile, the BJP leadership accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of threatening private bus operators in many districts not to provide vehicles to ferry BJP activists to the Monday rally. The Trinamool Congress denied the charge.
