Girl’s mother makes stunning disclosure

The mother of Kashmiri girl, who Major Leetul Gogoi had lured into visiting him inside a hotel in Srinagar, has sensationally revealed that the controversial army officer had once barged inside her house very late in night.

“I was terrified when an army officer barged into our house during night hours for the first time and started enquiring about our well-being, I soon fainted,” Naseema was quoted by a Kashmiri website.

Naseema, a resident of Check-e-Kawoosa village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district also told reporters that she had gone hiding along with her family on Thursday afternoon after police detained Major Gogoi along with her daughter from Mamata hotel in Srinagar.

“I have three little children while my only daughter is just 17. It was in March when one night suddenly Army Major Gogai along with the Local Sameer Malla, who also is working for Army entered into our tin shed. I was scared and fainted. Army Major had enquired about our well-being and left the place,” Naseema said.

Naseema later said that both Major Gogai and Sameer Malla would frequently enter her house during late night hours. “The mere presence of Gogoi sent chill down my spine. Sameer used to converse with my daughter and I became doubtful but never knew she would be detained with the Major at a hotel,” she said.

Naseema, whose hosue was washed away in 2014 floods, now lives in a tin-shed house. She lives there with her husband and four children, with the girl in question being the eldest one.

Army Major Leetul Gogoi was taken to the Police station after an altercation with locals, which also involved his local driver Sameer Malla. It started after he tried to check into a hotel with the village girl. The Police have appointed Srinagar north zone SP Sajad Shah to probe the incident and Gogoi has been sent back to his camp in Budgam, reported Kashmir Observer.

Naseema said, “It was Sameer who brought Major into my house and started luring my daughter. My daughter informed me that she is visiting Narbal branch of Jammu Kashmir Bank on Wednesday morning but it came as a shock to me when the Local Sarpanch received a phone call from Police Station Khanyar informing that she has been detained for questioning.”

Meanwhile, Army Chief Bipin Rawat has said that exemplary punishment would be given to Major Leetul Gogoi if he was found guilty of “any offence.”
